SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL

Your Opinion Counts:

Take our Bike/Walk to School Survey!www.njsaferoutes.org

The Glen Rock School District Administration and Environmental Commission have been collaborating on building a successful Safe Routes to School Program (SRTS) for each of our elementary schools.Safe Routes to School (SRTS) is a nationwide effort to encourage more and safer walking and bicycling to school.

Bike/Walk to School Successes to Date

So far, Glen Rock has completed Bike/Walk to School events, in-class health and wellness programs and various infrastructure improvements. But we want to do more.Glen Rock has now the opportunity to apply for State and Federal grants to help build upon these SRTS programs. Safe Routes to School initiatives are also crucial in the borough’s ongoing effort to gain Sustainable Jersey certification.

What Are Your Concerns?

In order to successfully move the Safe Routes Programs forward and to tailor them to our community, we need to conduct a short survey of parents and caregivers. We have partnered with the NJ Department of Transportation and researchers at the Voorhees Transportation Center to prepare the following survey. The goal of this survey is to understand any issues or concerns with allowing your child to walk or bike to school

Please…Complete the Survey Today

Please go to the following link www.njsaferoutes.organd complete this brief survey today. The information gathered from this survey will be used to support your local, state and national Safe Routes to School programs and allow us to apply for various grants that are available. This link can also be found on the District Website.

Please note that all responses will be kept anonymous and neither your name nor your child’s name will be associated with any results. Your participation in this survey is completely voluntary; however, your opinions are highly valued.

If you have any questions about your rights as a participant in this study, you may contact the Institutional Review Board administrator at Rutgers University at 732-932-0150 ext. 2104
